Nurses in Action - Kenya Fundraiser
World Youth International’s Nurses in Action program provides a unique, powerful and immersive volunteering experience for health professionals.
Nurses in Action (NIA) is a team program which provides a unique, powerful and immersive experience for volunteers. The program is held over 4 weeks in Kenya and allows nurses and allied health professionals aged 18 – 65 to provide primary healthcare services to people living in remote communities.
World Youth International opened the Mama Ann’s Community Health Centre in 2013. Our WYI project provides subsidised healthcare for up to 18,000 patients a year in Odede. Having our own health facility allows volunteers to have a richer, more meaningful experience. We help treat the Odede community and offer an extra pair of hands, where required.
During my time in Kenya, I will have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of experiences and placements as a Nurses in Action volunteer.
- Provide your skills in the areas of child and maternal health, wound management, immunisations and general nursing care.
- Participate in medical camps in remote communities and treat 200-500 patients in one day.
- Educate local communities and healthcare providers about sustainable public health practices including hygiene, sanitation and nursing care.
- Visit people in their homes who are unable to travel to health centres and provide them with much needed medical care.
When an order is placed, you will be emailed an invoice within 24 hours.

Any orders that are ordered and paid for after the 12th of December will be shipped at the end of January.
Please note: an order MUST be paid for by the 12th of each month for it to be prepared and shipped as scheduled. Any order left unpaid will not be sent until payment is received.
