Dear Supporters,

It is a very exciting time for seven young NSW players who have been named in the Junior Australian Steelers team to contest the WBSC U18 Men’s World Cup in Mexico in November 2023.  

Selection to the team is a testament to dedication, perseverance and exceptional skills. The tireless efforts in training, countless hours of practice, and passion for the sport have paid off. 

World Cups are the pinnacle for softball and this team will now face off against the best players on the planet.  With hard work and determination, we believe we have the team to challenge for the title of world champions. 

The Junior Steelers will come together in early November in Australia for training and warm-up games, before flying to Mexico for final preparations ahead of the World Cup, which takes place 11-19 November 2023.

Australia has a rich history in this age group with many medals won. The athletes and teams that have represented before have paved the way for the 2023 team to emulate and be inspired by. We are sure that this group of players will be outstanding ambassadors for their families, our sport, and our country.
