Tasting Notes
Pale straw in colour, the 2011 Pinot Gris displayes elegant rose petals and musk on the nose while the palate is full bodied and abounds with pear fruit and melon characters. The partial barrel fermentation and lees contact has added extra complexity and richness to the palate. The wine is at its peak with one to two years in the bottle and will hold for up to four years. This wine is an excellent match with asian cusine and will cope with spicy dishes. it is equally suited to fish and poultry.

Fruit for this wine was hand picked in two separate parcels from our most elevated block. The two parcels were fermented separately and then blended to give a wine of greater complexity. The bouquet displays fresh varietal characters of lychees, gooseberries and a hint of cut grass while the palate abounds with tropical fruit characters. Crisp natural acidity makes it perfect for a wide range of foods or simply sipped lightly chilled as an aperitif.
